Rigged my 5.4 as I didnt fancy trashing my 6.3 in the surf. A couple of locals turned up and rigged sails ranging from 5.3 - 6.3
Getting out was sometimes tricky with a few lulls in between the waves and I got nailed on a few rides out but it was a great session. Got some big airs resulting in a few good and a few bad landings.
Coulda done with a wave board mesing around in the waves. About 5 others out and quite a few kitesurfers who were always getting in the way.
Was a damn good session until it all came to an abrupt end when I was sailing out through the surf when I was just going for the foootstraps and a big wave nailed me so I fell forward into the sail and my arms went straight through it so my sails pretty much written off. The hole wasnt to big to begin with but 2 more waves came through and ripped the panel apart.
A real pain in the arse especially when I was relying on not breaking any of my kit as I cant really afford to get it repaired or get a new one. It could mean sacrificing camp site fees for kipping in the car somenights. Just got my 4.5 and 6.3 to play with now so no more playing in the waves. ashame when I was just getting into the swing of things with wave sailing.
